What kind of flower is that? It's just beautiful!! The petals look like silk!!

@Jen: I think it's from a tulip or magnolia tree, but I'm not sure. They are a beautiful shade of white and pink and they smell divine. They're always the first trees to bloom in the spring here.

You know, the blown out highlights actually help define your subject here. I'm not sure if you did this by accident or on purpose. Either way it is an excellent shot!!! Very well done.

@craiger: Thanks! The flash went off without my meaning to, but I decided I liked the effect of the stark white against the dark background. I've actually lowered the exposure slightly from the original so that the middle of the flower is well-defined.
